Science teacher Ms. Wampler and History teacher Mr. Aguado developed a "mini" project for the students. Students were prompted that the world (as they know it) was ending. They were selected by NASA to travel with a diverse group of 1,000 strangers to colonize a new planet and to create a government that will help them survive in this new world. Students began to design their new habitats on their new planet and were instructed to build a model rocket to find out the time it will take for their new colony to reach the new planet. Students launched the rockets to record their acceleration, which they could then use to calculate the velocity of their rocket ship during their trip.
