Course Description
Chemistry is the study of matter and the changes they undergo. In the first semester, students will explore the scientific method, atomic and molecular structures, chemical bonds, conservation of matter, and chemical reactions. They will create a science experiment to prove whether small changes lead to a revolution in relation to Project Revolution.
In the second semester we will explore stoichiometry, gas laws, acids and bases, thermodynamics, reaction rates, chemical equilibrium, oxidation-reduction, organic chemistry, and nuclear processes. Students will create a myth busters video to try to dispel energy myths in relation to the alternative energy centered Project Prometheus.
